What are open editions?

Open editions are unlimited editions or distributions of photographs/fine art prints. Because of the further distribution, both the exclusivity and the purchase price are significantly lower. There is hardly any appeal for investors to buy open editions. Because of the unlimited distribution, without a signature and sometimes with no mention of the artist, a value increase is generally not possible.

Those who purchase open editions use fine art photography mainly as exclusive living room or office decoration. For photography enthusiasts, open editions are often a high-quality yet cheaper starting point for collecting photographic artwork. The target groups of fine art photography differ a lot.

During the Inside-Gallery production process, all editions are printed and refined according to the same strict quality requirements – regardless of whether they are artists’ proofs, limited fine art photography or open editions. The high-quality finish also creates a unique viewing experience and a long-lasting piece of work for open editions.
