Solberget

The winters of Swedish Lapland are long and often bitterly cold. Temperatures often fall below minus 30, sometimes even minus 40 – a very special fascination. In the northernmost regions, the sun hides for several weeks: the polar night. However, when the sun returns in early February, first for a couple of hours each day only, the landscape is illuminated in soft and very special colours.

In this image, the low sun presents the snow-covered trees in special beauty. A moment of total tranquillity. The thick blanket of snow swallows all sound and calmness is complete. The observer can truly immerse himself in a scene of solitude, in a quiet and bitterly cold landscape.
