Grand Park Towers
The photographic work shows, on the one hand, the deterioration of the airport, which opened in 1910, in the foreground – on the other, the new splendor of the powerful in the centre of the motif. The “Grand Park Towers” is a free interpretation from the “Imperial Pomp: Post-Soviet High-Rise” series of motifs.
The “silent witnesses of megalomania – post-Soviet skyscrapers,” according to SpiegelOnline, “rise up from the ground like monsters, spiral up to the heavens like fountains . . .” These solitary colossuses are imposing and overwhelming at the same time. In a very special light, they develop a monumental effect.
