“Transforming the magical, mystical, and seemingly vague into inspiring images is my mission in photography.”
Frank Herfort studied at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg. His diploma project, outstanding in both a national and international context, was created in Russia. He currently lives in Moscow and Germany. Frank Herfort specializes in people’s isolation in spaces and in complex structures in Russian architecture. The photographer sees this combination as an alienation of people, who he stages using the “public interior of Moscow”. His large-format artworks are hence an artistic combination of the surreal and the straight-lined, with an irony detectable in the pictorial language. He has been successfully exhibiting his artworks internationally for over fifteen years.
